My son the fisherman

Ever since we've moved to the Woodlands, Bryan and Owen have gone fishing and have never caught a fish. They've tried different kinds of bait and different places but always come up empty. So on Saturday, I made them go to a kid's fishing tournament at one of the ponds in the neigborhood and Owen actually caught a fish. I have some video of it and if I ever figure out how to convert it, I'll put it on here. Needless to say, he was very proud of himself and even threw it back in the water after Bryan took it off the hook. Above is a pic of Owen looking a wee bit bored waiting to catch a fish. And he has a Spiderman rod which he thinks is about the coolest thing ever made.

And one final Easter celebration

Owen and I went to the MOMS Club Easter Egg hunt so he could hunt for eggs for the 100th time this year. He had a great time and is getting to know some new kids which is great. I really miss that our old house had a built in playmate in Patrick who lived next door. I swear sometimes I would turn around and he had just magically appeared in my kitchen. Or we would pull into the garage and by the time I got in the house I would realize he was with us. Our neighbors on both sides have boys and Owen's played with the set of brothers that are a little older. Now only if they would invite him over to play on his own so I could take a nap.....

Easter Weekend in Austin

We loaded up the car with Mimi and Popi and spent Easter in Austin with the McAfees. We hadn't seen their new house yet which is shameful since they've been up there for so long. We had a GREAT time! Not that I don't love my son, but I loved the fact that he hangs out with cousins and I didn't see him for 2 days :) They read to him at night, play with him all day, eat with him....basically act like his parents! At night all the adults hung out and watched basketball but unfortunately I wasn't able to hang because I was still pretty sick at night.

Barbq at Rudy's which I think is now Bryan's favorite restaurant. Owen loves the cream corn there and the fact that they have this cool handwashing machine that you stick your hands in. Bryan won a bunch of money playing poker last night so we had to try out the Rudy's here in town and it was great!

A few weeks before Easter, we went to the Morrison's to hang out and catch up with everyone. The kids dyed eggs and then had no less than 15 egg hunts in the yard compliments of Josh. We got to Joel and Lisa, Jill and Josh, Patty and Thomas and Angie. It was almost a Vegas reunion!!! Owen loved getting to hunt the eggs and getting to stay up late. After the kids were in bed we all got a chance to catch up and it makes me miss the Pear even more!!!
